Mauritius joined the Madrid System in February 2023 and becomes the 114th member.
The Madrid System offers a convenient and cost-effective solution for investors to obtain and manage trademark protection in 130 countries* in a single application.
With this membership, Mauritius continues to consolidate its position as an international financial centre of excellence for the region and to promote the development of intellectual property in Mauritius.
As a reminder, the government has introduced an 8-year income tax exemption for companies created after 1 July 2017 with activities in innovation for the development of intellectual property (IP) assets in Mauritius or on income derived by a company from IP assets developed in Mauritius after 10 June 2019.
