Grace Kelly : “From Hollywood to Monaco”

16/04/2019
S.A.S. Princess Charlene, in the presence of many Chinese and Monegasque personalities, including Minister of State Serge Telle and HE Mrs. Catherine Fautrier, Ambassador of Monaco to China, inaugurated the exhibition entitled "Grace Kelly. From Hollywood to Monaco ", which is currently held in the exhibition gallery of the Galaxy Macao complex. Organized by the Grimaldi Forum thanks to the loans from the collections of the Prince's Palace and the Audiovisual Institute of Monaco, this exhibition traces the life of Grace Kelly, who became Princess of Monaco, by marrying Prince Rainier III. This unique exhibition combines two productions: "The Grace Kelly Years" and the traveling exhibition "Princes and Princesses of Monaco. A European dynasty ".  Please click on Video of Monaco Info for a detailed reportage.

The exhibition is exceptional in many ways.  A temporary gallery was specially created for this exhibition to display collections from the Prince’s Palace of Monaco. The scenography was designed under the supervision of Dr Thomas Fouilleron, Curator of the exhibition and Director of Archives and Library of the Prince’s Palace of Monaco, allowing visitors to go through a journey which integrates history, heritage, fashion, and arts.
Co-organised by the Galaxy Entertainment Group Foundation and Grimaldi Forum of Monaco, the exhibition traces the story of legendary movie star Grace Kelly (1929-1982), and showcases how artists were inspired to create their works with her being their muse: Andy Warhol, with his pop art image of Grace Kelly; Alfred Hitchcock, directing his series of films starring Grace Kelly; and famous photographers, sculptors, jewellers and fashion houses, depicting her signature style - the “Grace Kelly Look”. On loan from the collections of the Prince’s Palace of Monaco, the exhibits include photographs and moving images of Grace Kelly, her Oscar award statuette, wedding gown, the eponymous Hermès Kelly bag, designer jewellery, and a rare portrait print by Andy Warhol.
